Finance Manager

Location: Maidenhead, Berkshire (3 days per week in office, occasional UK travel)

Contract: Full-Time, Permanent, 38.75 hours per week

Salary: Up to £80,000 depending on experience

About The Role

We are looking for a highly skilled Finance Manager to join our Funerals Division. This pivotal role partners directly with the MD and senior business leaders to provide insightful analysis and support commercial and operational strategy.

You’ll combine commercial rigour with emotional intelligence, identifying opportunities and risks through excellent analytics, and communicating findings in a clear, engaging way that drives performance across the business.

Key Responsibilities
  • Partner with Funeral Operations leadership as a trusted advisor, championing outperformance and identifying opportunities to improve.
  • Lead forecasting processes (budget and latest estimate), ensuring accuracy and providing strategic commentary.
  • Analyse business data to identify KPIs, trends, and performance drivers, translating them into actionable insights.
  • Own and maintain financial models for Branch and Care Centre operations, defining cost bases and overseeing regional investment.
  • Drive cost control initiatives and efficiency improvements.
  • Prepare high-quality materials for Executive and Board reviews.
  • Collaborate with FP&A, Management Accounts, and Data & Analytics teams to deliver clear management information.
  • Create detailed business cases for high-impact decisions, including pricing strategies, site openings/closures, and capital investments.

  • Has excellent commercial acumen and judgement, with strong communication skills.

Knowledge, Skills & Experience
  • Multiple years’ experience in finance roles such as Commercial, FP&A, or Management Accounts.
  • Qualified finance professional (CIMA/ACCA) with a degree or equivalent experience.
  • Skilled in financial modelling, forecasting, and data presentation.
  • Strong stakeholder management experience, including senior managers and non-financial teams.
  • Advanced Excel skills (Pivot Tables, XLOOKUP, IF functions).
  • Experience with data visualisation tools (Tableau, Power BI) and ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, or similar).
  • Excellent communication skills, able to explain complex financial information clearly.
