Job Title: Finance Accountant

We are currently looking to recruit a Finance Accountant within our Sales & Stock Accounting team. This is a hybrid role based 3 days a week in the office.

Next is a dynamic and fast growing business, to succeed in this role you must be happy in a fast-moving, fluid, ever-changing environment. You will need a mixture of solid financial / management accounting skills, coupled with financial analysis to maintain core financial controls, support Key Stakeholders and business initiatives.

The successful candidate will become a key part of the Sales & Stock Accounting team, to support the continued success and growth of the Next business.

The role:

You will be supporting Next’s ‘Royalties & Licensing' business. Based at our Leicestershire Head Office, you will be responsible for delivering finance support to key stakeholders in relation to revenue generated from royalties and licensing.

Key responsibilities:


Royalty Statement Management

  • Manage the preparation and issuance of periodic outbound royalty and licensing statements for45 partners with an outflow ofc. £10m p.a
  • Manage the preparation and issuance of inbound royalty statements and sales invoices, generating income ofc. £1m p.a
  • Key liaison with product teams and licensing partners to ensure prompt payment, contract compliance and resolve any operational issues arising from the issuance of statements.

Management Information

  • Produce weekly sales performance reports for each partner detailing sales, performance v forecast and performance v minimum guarantees.
  • Manage performance v minimum guarantees, involving the management of onerous contract provisions.

Contract Management & Compliance

  • Review all new contracts with product teams and legal to identify and prevent operational challenges.
  • Review contracts for turnover specific clauses to ensure correct billing of royalties.

Experience

A pro-active and hands onqualified Accountant (ACCA/CIMA or equivalent)

Demonstrable reporting experience

A proven ability to work independently

Demonstrable stakeholder management skills

Strong influencing and negotiation skills.

Exceptional working knowledge of MS Office (esp. MS Excel) suite of products, Google Gsuite is desirable
