Job summary

A medical technology company is looking for a Biomedical Service Engineer to ensure the maintenance and repair of medical devices across various hospitals in the UK & Ireland. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 2 years experience in biomedical services and must hold a valid UK driving license. Responsibilities include preventive maintenance, repairs, and maintaining high standards of customer service. This position requires travel to multiple locations and adherence to safety standards.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years experience in servicing and repairing electrodiagnostic medical equipment.
  • Minimum 2 years advanced computing and networking experience.
  • Hold a clean UK Driving License.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain spare part boot stock wherever necessary.

Job description

To provide daily repair, preventative maintenance and asset management of medical devices within various hospital locations in the UK & Ireland whilst ensuring outstanding customer support and building long term relationship.

Responsibilities
  • Perform scheduled preventive maintenance (PM) on medical equipment as per manufacturer’s guidelines.
  • Complete repairs as required on medical equipment per manufacturer’s guidelines.
  • Complete associated admin needed to close repairs and PMs as outlined in the Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Update the company electronic service/maintenance reporting system.
  • Travel to various sites (UK & Ireland) to perform Corrective and Preventive Maintenance.
  • Maintain safe working practices within the hospital environment.
  • Exceed contract KPI’s to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Work to maintain a high standard of customer service and protect your health and safety as well as that of your colleagues, our customers and members of the public. Promptly raise any concerns regarding potential violations of the policies.
  • Maintain spare part boot stock wherever necessary.

  • Review ways to improve productivity and reduce operating expenditure.

Capability profile
Qualifications - Desirable
  • HNC in Electrical Electronic Engineering or equivalent
  • Qualification in Engineering, electronics or medical technologies such as biomedical engineering.
  • HNC in Computing or equivalent
  • Qualification in Computing or Networking Infrastructure type qualifications
  • Ability to follow complex instructions and processes.
  • Hold a clean UK Driving License
  • Good organisation and communications skills.
Experience - Essential
  • Minimum 2 years Biomedical experience in a service and repair of electrodiagnostic medical equipment.
  • Minimum 2 years advanced computing and networking experience.
  • Have customer service skills and the ability to be confident in customer facing environments.
  • Field service experience preferable.
  • Must have UK based experience.
Visa and applicability to work in the UK
  • Applicants should not require a VISA and must have the right to work in the UK.
Mobility requirements
  • Must be willing to travel to multiple sites within the UK & Ireland.
  • International travel possible – Training Courses.
