Job Description

We are looking for a Field Service Engineer to cover the Scotland area. The role involves visiting customer premises to diagnose and repair, install and calibrate garage equipment, and ensure customer compliance and satisfaction. The ideal candidate comes from a similar automotive background.

Travel is required, including occasional overnight stays and rare weekends.

Duties Include
  • Coordinate workload to ensure effective time management and efficient route planning. Identify geographic clusters to reduce travel time and increase productive time.
  • Deliver on service agreements and ensure customer equipment is calibrated in line with legislative requirements.
  • Download certificates and breakdown reports to the correct file location on a weekly basis.
  • Carry out site surveys prior to installation, then full installation and customer training, sign off completion form with the customer and download to server.
  • Respond quickly to unplanned maintenance, change plans and communicate changes to all stakeholders.
  • Fault find and repair on breakdowns, plus planned preventative maintenance.
  • Build solid customer relationships to support increased satisfaction.
  • Focus on quality of service & first‑time fix, provide feedback on requirements to improve products or services.
  • Work closely with other engineers and service technicians.
  • Keep abreast of the latest technology and products, highlight training requirements to line manager.
  • Ensure adherence to health and safety policies, company procedures and the GEA code of conduct.
  • Offer ideas for training that would benefit you and your peers, providing the skills needed for a high level of performance.
Qualifications
  • A levels / BTEC qualified or the equivalent working experience.
  • Previous experience in a field service engineer role or product support position, with proven problem‑solving and customer service skills.
  • Experience with garage equipment is desirable.
  • Must have a similar mechanical background.
  • Full driving licence required.
