Compensation & Benefits
  • Salary £38,500 per annum (depending on experience)
  • Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM
  • Permanent
  • Regular overtime: payable 1.5x on Monday‑Saturday, 2x on Sunday

Role Overview

We are looking for a Field Service Engineer in the Cheshire area who will be responsible for maintaining, servicing, and repairing third‑party material‑handling equipment. In this role you will provide excellent customer service through product knowledge and interaction.

Key Responsibilities
  • Complete all service, repair, warranty, and inspection jobs allocated daily to a high‑quality standard.
  • Work on a variety of material‑handling equipment, including large machines.
  • Build strong rapport and relationships with customers through professional behaviour and a customer‑focused mindset.
  • Troubleshoot, investigate, and resolve standard technical problems to ensure ongoing customer satisfaction.
  • Develop skills and knowledge of the organisation’s products and services.
  • Comply with all legal and company standards, such as the code of conduct and H&S practices.
  • Travel to other areas as scheduled by coordinators.
Qualifications & Experience
  • Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or similar qualification to Level 3 – ESSENTIAL.
  • Multi‑skilled engineering experience with heavy plant equipment and hydraulic systems – ESSENTIAL.
  • Ability to read and follow electrical wiring diagrams.
  • Background in heavy plant / material handling – ESSENTIAL.
  • Fault finding and diagnostics of CAN‑BUS systems and electrical faults.
  • Willingness to work at heights – ESSENTIAL.
  • Good IT literacy, numeracy, and analytical skills.
  • Flexibility and adaptability.
  • Availability for on‑call rota.
  • Flexibility to travel as required.
