Job description

Position for an experienced field service engineer to work within print industry. You will join a specialist company with a team of 4 engineers, offering service and support on a wide range of Print Finishing Machinery. This is a fantastic opportunity for a technically minded, customer‑focused engineer who thrives in a varied role – combining hands‑on servicing, installations, operator training, and customer demonstrations.

From a Head Office based in Warrington, Cheshire, the company specialises in the sale and service of print finishing equipment across the UK, continually developing business and new contracts with large corporate accounts, commercial printers and other market sectors. We supply guillotines, booklet makers, creasing solutions, folding machines and major brands of automated finishing solutions.

Responsible for machine installation, repairs, maintenance and testing of customer equipment. You will also liaise with customers on equipment usage and potential new equipment needs. You will receive a company vehicle and fuel card following successful training, along with a toolkit and vehicle stock for which you will be responsible. There is the opportunity to increase the salary through commission on sales of machines and service contracts.

This is an ideal position for someone in the print industry or someone wanting to further develop their electrical mechanical engineering experience. The role requires travel within the UK and regular overnight stays.

The role
  • Install, service, maintain and repair print finishing equipment across customer sites
  • Provide operator training and demonstrations to support sales activities
  • Troubleshoot technical issues, diagnose faults and deliver solutions efficiently
  • Represent the company with professionalism, acting as a trusted ambassador on‑site
  • Flexibility to travel across the UK (overnight stays required)
The person
  • Mechanical or electrical engineering background (qualified or with equivalent experience)
  • Previous experience working with print finishing machinery (binding, stitching, folding, laminating, guillotines etc.) highly desirable but not essential
  • Strong troubleshooting skills and IT literacy
  • A customer‑first mindset with excellent communication skills
  • Full, clean UK driving licence
  • Ideally located around the Milton Keynes, Luton, London area for ease of travel
  • Willing to travel
