A prominent educational institution in London is seeking a diligent Facilities Assistant to support the smooth operation of the school site. The ideal candidate will ensure the upkeep of various facilities including sports pavilions and a swimming pool. Responsibilities include assisting facility hirers, performing basic maintenance tasks, and adapting to changing priorities. This role offers a unique working schedule from 1.00pm to 10.00pm, with additional allowances for unsociable hours and requires a full UK driving license.
Dulwich Prep & Senior offers an exciting and inspiring work environment. With more than 800 pupils and 200 staff, it has been the largest boys’ prep school in the UK and is nestled in one of the most picturesque areas of London, the world’s most cosmopolitan city. Our recent expansion includes the opening of our Senior Section in September 2025, allowing boys to stay with us through the completion of their GCSE studies.
We are looking for a helpful, reliable, and proactive person to assist our facilities team. In this role, you will help ensure the smooth daily operation and upkeep of the entire school site, including a dedicated Early Years site, sports pavilions, and a swimming pool. Your responsibilities will include welcoming and assisting facility hirers, porterage, basic maintenance tasks, and securing the premises.

A full UK driving license (including manual vehicles) is required, along with a basic aptitude for general maintenance and handyman tasks. The ability to swim and drive a mini-bus would be helpful.
Working hours will be 1.00pm to 10.00pm, Monday to Friday, plus 15 Saturdays (7.00am to 6.00pm) to be worked each year. There is an additional annual allowance of £3,000 in consideration of the unsociable working hours.
