Full-time / Private Client Executry / Galashiels

Salary range: £25,000 – £32,000 per annum (commensurate with experience)

We have an immediate opportunity for an Executry Paralegal to join our Private Client team in Galashiels. This is a full-time role offering a varied and rewarding workload.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • A specialist paralegal qualification in Wills, Trusts and Executries
  • 2+ years of relevant experience
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively
  • A good working knowledge of the Microsoft suite; familiarity with LawWare is an advantage
  • Proficiency with IT systems and document production
  • Excellent time management and the ability to meet deadlines
  • The ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team
  • A proactive approach to problem-solving and attention to detail
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Sound numeracy skills and confidence in handling financial information
  • Good working knowledge of inheritance tax, exemptions and reliefs (training can be provided)
  • A client-focused approach with empathy and professionalism
  • Discretion and a commitment to confidentiality
  • The ability to remain calm under pressure and adapt to changing priorities

Key responsibilities include:

  • Administration of executries, including high-value taxable estates, both testate and intestate, from initial meeting to final statement of account
  • Managing a caseload of executry files independently and assisting colleagues with more complex cases
  • Regular client contact via telephone, email, written correspondence, and in-person or video meetings
