Job summary

A nature conservation organisation in Doncaster is seeking an experienced Events & Experiences Officer to lead the development of wildlife-focused events at Potteric Carr nature reserve. This role involves planning and delivering an engaging events programme to raise awareness and support for nature conservation. Salary: £25,624 – £27,696 per annum, depending on experience

Overview

Yorkshire Wildlife Trust is one of the UK’s fastest growing nature conservation organisations and seeks to appoint an Events & Experiences Officer to join the team at our Potteric Carr nature reserve. This is an exciting opportunity to lead the development of engaging, wildlife‑focused events and visitor experiences that inspire support for nature and help us grow the reach and impact of our work.

Responsibilities
  • Plan, promote and deliver a high‑quality, year‑round commercial events programme (ranging from regular guided walks to large‑scale festivals) that raises awareness of Potteric Carr, drives footfall and generates vital income for the Trust.
  • Monitor and evaluate engagement activities to ensure we consistently deliver impactful, financially sustainable experiences.
  • Nurture a team of volunteers to enhance visitor engagement.
  • Collaborate with operational teams to craft exciting wildlife‑watching opportunities.
  • Build relationships with new and existing partners and suppliers to diversify and strengthen our offer.
Qualifications
  • Experience in planning and delivering public‑facing events, ideally in outdoor or visitor attraction settings.
  • Creative communicator with the ability to inspire diverse audiences, build partnerships and manage resources effectively – including volunteers.
  • Team player willing to work flexibly to support the delivery of our broader engagement programme.
  • Knowledge of community or environmental engagement and a passion for wildlife conservation and delivering exceptional visitor experiences.
