Job description
Environment Officer – North Wales Control of Agricultural Pollution

Are you passionate about protecting the environment and ready to take on a challenging and rewarding role? We’re offering an exciting opportunity to join our North Wales Control of Agricultural Pollution Team on a permanent basis as an Environment Officer.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct farm inspections independently and in teams throughout Powys to ensure compliance with the Control of Agricultural Pollution Regulations.
  • Build productive relationships with farmers and land managers, offering guidance and, when necessary, taking proportionate enforcement action to drive compliance and protect natural resources.
  • Respond swiftly and effectively to environmental incidents, including illegal waste activities, as part of NRW’s duty as a Category 1 responder under the Civil Contingencies Act.
  • Maintain coverage of a large geographical area and hold a valid full UK licence to drive NRW fleet vehicles (cars and vans).
  • Make decisions in a fast‑paced, dynamic environment where each day presents new challenges.
About Us

As part of the North Wales Control of Agricultural Pollution (CoAPR) team at Natural Resources Wales, you will work within a unit of officers specialising in CoAPR, within the North West Wales Operations directorate, covering all of North Wales.
