Industrial Power & Marine Ltd is seeking a skilled and motivated Engineering Estimator to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in evaluating project costs, preparing accurate estimates, and supporting bid activities. Reporting to the Engineering Manager and working closely with the Business Development Manager, you will ensure precise cost estimations aligned with industry standards and company objectives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Research and determine the cost of materials, transport, labour, and equipment.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with contractors and vendors.
  • Prepare Requests for Quotations (RFQs) from suppliers and contractors within designated timelines.
  • Assess risk levels associated with different projects.
  • Prepare detailed quotations and cost estimations for various project works.
  • Assist with bids for new contracts and support procurement activities.
  • Monitor project costs at different stages to ensure adherence to estimated budgets.
  • Ensure compliance with engineering specifications and client requirements.
  • Liaise with engineering department members during the estimating phase.
  • Develop a standard set of Norms for the company and utilise these for project estimation.
  • Compile and present professional estimates using available tools and systems.
Qualifications & Skills
  • Proven experience as an Estimator or Bid Manager.
  • Strong understanding of waste-to-energy, pressure systems technologies, and structural components.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple bids concurrently while meeting strict deadlines.
  • Proficiency with bid management software and tools.
  • Experience in working with cross-functional teams.
