Quantity Surveyor–Infrastructure

Location – Halifax, West Yorkshire

What you will be doing

As an experienced Quantity Surveyor working for Galliford Try’s Infrastructure division, you will be assisting in the commercial administration, reporting and performance of our regeneration scheme in Halifax town centre.

  • Contribute to creating a safe working environment.
  • Produce and negotiate Subcontract documentation, including terms, prices, and schedules.
  • Manage subcontract works packages, including interim assessments and change management.
  • Issue commercial notices to the Client and Subcontractors as required by the contract.
  • Manage contract changes, including Compensation Event Quotations, and submit monthly applications to the Client.
  • Collaborate with operational and engineering teams to maintain proper site records.
  • Generate detailed monthly reports, Cost Value Reconciliation (CVR), and maintain a comprehensive Cost Plan.
  • Attend progress and risk reduction meetings, applying contractual expertise to support estimating and bid teams.
About you
  • Good appreciation of standard forms of contract.
  • Strong IT skills including Excel, Word and Contractual and Cost Management Systems (CEMAR, Oracle). Strong stakeholder management and communication capabilities.
  • Solid knowledge of construction processes.
  • First class time and outcome management skills.
  • Professional qualification such as MCIOB or MRICS, ideally Incorporated member, working towards full membership (Desirable).
  • Relevant degree and/or experience of working in a relevant Commercial environment.
  • CSCS appropriate.
