Qualifications

As we prepare to deliver a significant capital programme over the next five years, we're investing in the growth and development of our design department.

We're seeking a PrincipalElectrical Engineer with strong water sector experience to help shape the future of water infrastructure by bringing technical expertise, innovative thinking, and leadership to our team.

This is a unique opportunity to influence major projects from concept to construction, delivering sustainable, best-value solutions that are safe to build, operate and maintain.

Your technical leadership will set the benchmark for technical excellence and drive collaboration across disciplines.

What you\'ll do

In this role, you will be atrusted authority for electrical design delivery, providing guidance and solutions to complex technical challenges.

You'll influence major projects from concept through to construction, ensuring innovative, sustainable and best-value solutions that are safe to build, operate and maintain.

You'll also:

  • lead in electrical design across water and wastewater infrastructure projects, including treatment works, pumping stations and network assets
  • contribute to the strategic technical direction and standards for our Electrical Engineering team
  • develop and evaluate options to identify the least whole-life cost solutions
  • review and approve technical reports, calculations, designs and drawings for compliance with technical, health and safety, legal and environmental standards
  • provide expert technical guidance and mentoring to support developing Engineers
  • collaborate with other engineering disciplines to ensure scope alignment and integrated delivery
  • liaise with site managers on technical issues and ensure design proceeds in line with budgetary and programme constraints
  • provide technical leadership on industrial power system design, including specification of distribution substation and standby generation equipment (HV and LV systems)
  • provide expert input into control systems design.

  • a degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline
  • extensive experience in electrical design
  • Chartered Engineer status
  • an in-depth understanding of BS 7671:2018
