The Levels School is an Independent Specialist Day School offering high quality education and exemplary pastoral care to students with a range of complex, specific learning differences that may include speech, language, and communication needs. Our teaching and learning provision would also meet the needs of individuals presenting with a similar learning profile tothosewith dyslexia andotherSpeech and LanguageCommunication difficulties. Individuals with these differences often have difficulties with working memory, executive function, and speed of processing.In our experience these learners can often suffer with anxiety and have a low self-concept so we are also able to support vulnerable learners that suffer withfatigue or who may have been out of school due to anxiety
An opportunity has arisen for a KS3 Lead for Science at The Levels School full-time from September 26 (Possibility for an earlier start can be discussed at Interview). We are interested in appointing the right person to complement our staff team. An ability to offer another subject eg: ICT, Business Studies, Maths and Geography is always desirable.
The successful candidate will need to be motivated and enthusiastic. You will be joining a committed and dedicated team that have high expectations for students and work hard to ensure they achieve their maximum outcomes.
Due to our continued growth, an opportunity has arisen for a highly skilled, dedicated teacher to become the KS3 Lead for Science at The Levels School full-time from September 2026 (Possibility for an earlier start can be discussed at Interview). We are interested in appointing the right person to complement our staff team and will adapt the role to fit the strengths of the successful candidate.
As a KS3 Leader for Science at The Levels School, you will be working under the direction of the Lead for Science and ICT and the Head teacher and alongside the SENDCo in delivering the curriculum and providing pastoral support to our students. The successful candidate will be experienced across KS3 and KS4. They will have day to day responsibility for leading, developing and delivering the KS3 Science Curriculum, including the pastoral and academic welfare of students. There is the potential opportunity for increased responsibility for the right candidate.
You will need to be a qualified Teacher with experience of SEND including knowledge of the National curriculum and the teaching of Key Stage 3 and 4. Students follow GCSE Double Science at The Levels School. The successful candidate will need to be motivated and enthusiastic with strong pedagogical skills. You will be joining a committed and dedicated team that have high expectations for students and work hard to ensure they achieve their maximum outcomes. Our students all have SpLD broadly in line with those experienced by dyslexia, ASD and other co-occurring difficulties.
Enthusiasm is as important as experience, as you will need to inspire as well as teach.
You will be able to demonstrate a range of multi-sensory teaching techniques and be prepared to go above and beyond for the young people we support. It is important that you are ambitious for our students and have a desire to problem solve and work as a cog in a small team to unpick the nature of their SEND so that strategies can be put in place to allow each student to achieve their maximum potential.

The role of the KS3 Lead for Science is offered on a full time, permanent basis.
We are looking to appoint a flexible, adaptable and dedicated individual with experience in working with students with SpLD and some SEMH difficulties as a result of their barriers to learning.
