We’re looking for a passionate Sous Chef to join Cafe Murano restaurant by Angela Hartnett in Bermondsey.

You’ll work with high-quality Italian ingredients, alongside talented kitchen teams and inspiring leaders, in a supportive and creative environment where attitude and ambition come first.

Sous Chef Responsibilities

• Support the Head Chef in the day-to-day running of the kitchen
• Deliver consistently high standards of food quality and presentation
• Lead, train and motivate the kitchen team
• Work confidently during busy services
• Ensure food safety, hygiene and health & safety standards are met
• Assist with ordering, stock control, costing and waste management
• Contribute ideas to menu development and kitchen improvement

Sous Chef Requirements

• Passion for cooking and desire to develop your skills
• Minimum 1 year experience as a Sous Chef or similar role
• Experience in a fast-paced restaurant
• Knowledge of Italian cuisine and fresh pasta (training provided)
• Ability to lead and communicate effectively with a team
• Strong work ethic, reliability and a positive, can‑do attitude
• Good understanding of food safety and kitchen operations
