A prominent healthcare provider in Ayr is looking for a Maintenance Craftsman (Plumber) to join their Estates Department at University Hospital Ayr. This permanent position requires a City & Guilds Craft Certificate and experience in plumbing maintenance within a hospital setting. Candidates should possess effective communication skills and must hold a valid UK driving licence. An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Maintenance Craftsman (Plumber) within our Estates Department based at University Hospital Ayr.
From 1 April 2026, the working week for NHS Agenda for Change staff in Scotland will be reduced. Full-time hours will reduce from 37 to 36 hours (pro rata for part-time staff) without loss of earnings. 37 per week (8.00am to 4.30 pm Monday to Thursday and 8.00am to 1.00pm Friday). With the requirement to participate in an on-call rota. This post is offered on a permanent basis.
A UK driving licence is essential to this role.
Following completion of a recognised apprenticeship and having gained extensive experience in this field, you will be part of a team reporting directly to the Plumbing Supervisor, responsible for the delivery of engineering services within a hospital environment and across community premises. You should be able to demonstrate versatility and experience on a range of complex plumbing maintenance work task schedules in addition to being an effective communicator.
