Job summary

A community-focused charity in West Bromwich seeks a Nursery Practitioner to provide high-quality care for children from birth to 5 years. The ideal candidate will support children's development in a welcoming environment and promote safeguarding practices. Responsibilities include maintaining educational standards, assisting in planning activities, and engaging with parents to support their children's emotional wellbeing. Part-time roles will be considered during the interview process.

Qualifications

  • Experience working in a culturally diverse area and commitment to equal opportunities.
  • Current first aid qualification.
  • Ability to travel between sites when required.

Responsibilities

  • Provide high quality care for children from birth to 5 years.
  • Create a welcoming environment for children and families.
  • Promote safeguarding of children.
  • Offer support to parents/carers for their child's emotional wellbeing.
  • Maintain a safe, stimulating learning environment.
  • Assist in planning and delivery of educational activities.
  • Keep records of children's learning and development.

Skills

Knowledge of Ofsted Standards
Knowledge of Early Years Foundation Stage
Able to speak two or more local community languages
Motivation to work with children
Ability to form and maintain appropriate relationships with children
Emotional resilience to work with children needing support

Education

Childcare qualification Level 3 NVQ, equivalent or higher
