For almost 70 years, Abbeyfield Living Society has been a leading provider of housing and care for older people across England.
Our work is guided by five core values – Care, Compassion, Community, Integrity and Excellence – and we are proud of the difference our teams make every day in the lives of residents, colleagues and local communities.
We are now looking for a dedicated Night Care Assistant to join our team at Speedwell Court.
Speedwell Court is a Good CQC rated, 80 bedded home, providing high-quality residential care and dementia friendly care services.
As a Night Care Assistant at Abbeyfield Living Society, you will play a vital role in delivering high‑quality, person‑centred care that reflects our values and puts residents at the heart of everything we do.
You will support residents with their day‑to‑day personal care needs, including washing, dressing, eating, drinking and mobility. You will take the time to understand each individual, offering kindness, patience and empathy while promoting dignity, independence and choice.
You will help create a warm, welcoming and inclusive environment where residents feel safe, valued and at home. By building trusting relationships and encouraging social interaction, you will help foster a strong sense of belonging and connection within the home.
You will act with honesty and professionalism, following care plans accurately, respecting confidentiality and raising concerns when something doesn’t feel right. You will work collaboratively with colleagues and contribute to clear, open communication within the team.
You will be committed to delivering consistently high standards of care. This includes contributing to the development and review of individual care plans, recognising changes in residents’ needs, and striving to continuously improve the quality of support we provide.
This is a varied and rewarding role where no two days are the same, and where your contribution will make a genuine and lasting difference.
You don’t need previous experience in care – what matters most is your attitude and values. We are looking for people who:
If you are new to care or if you have experience but you're looking for a new opportunity, we will support you with full training and ongoing development.
This role requires eligibility to work in the UK, two satisfactory employment references and an Enhanced DBS check (paid for by Abbeyfield). You may be asked to disclose convictions; failure to do so may result in an offer of employment being withdrawn.
Are you someone who thrives on making a difference? Join us and build a rewarding career where your skills and compassion truly matter.
