MHA is seeking two dedicatedEmployment Coachesto join our team. These positions work directly with adults experiencing mental health challenges, helping them find and maintain meaningful, competitive employment. One role will focus onemployment placement, while the other will specialize inwork readiness training.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:(Additional duties may be assigned)

  • Networking and relationship-building with employers and potential employers around the ADA, job development, job carving, job coaching, and promoting job placement for program participants.
  • Accepts referrals and works one-on-one with individuals to assist with their job needs.
  • Provides basic assistance in understanding and enrollment in work incentive benefits.
  • Works closely with Employment Team members in facilitating groups, coordinating caseload, and organizing employment related functions.
  • Assists with building appropriate employment related social skills such as developing appropriate dress habits, boundary setting, communication skills and stress management strategies.
  • Collaborates with community resources and makes referrals as necessary.

Education and Experience:

  • Driver’s License, clean driver’s abstract and reliable vehicle required.
  • CASE Certification required to be completed within 1 year of hire.
  • 1 year experience in employment related services.
  • Knowledge of community employment resources.
  • Bi-lingual in Spanish a plus.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Ability to handle a variety of work assignments and to think creatively.
  • Capable of working both independently and as part of a team.
  • Personal lived experience with mental health is preferred.
  • Ability to work with a diverse group of people and groups successfully with sensitivity and respect for diverse cultural backgrounds and practices.
  • Excellence in interpersonal and communication skills, including writing and making effective presentations to internal and external management officials.
  • Computer proficiency including word processing, data entry, spreadsheets, and generating reports using standard software applications.
  • Ability to gather data, compile information, and prepare reports.
