Job summary

A leading global education provider is looking for a proactive and organized Welfare Lead for their Oxford Brookes Summer School in summer 2026. You will oversee student welfare, manage medical appointments, and provide support to students. The role requires someone with customer service experience, leadership skills, and the ability to work under pressure. Accommodation and full board are provided at no extra cost. Overview

EF (Education First) Oxford Brookes Summer School is seeking a proactive, organised and dependable Welfare Lead for summer 2026.

- Fixed-term contract between June 15 th – August 10 th 2026

- Accommodation and full board available if necessary

Responsibilities
  • Act as the main welfare contact for students and staff
  • Oversee the school’s overall welfare provision
  • Assist with arranging hospital and medical appointments
  • Coordinate food provisions for sick students
  • Support students experiencing homesickness and be approachable for their needs
  • Track welfare cases using the online reporting system, ensuring all cases are opened, followed up, and closed appropriately
  • Provide weekly updates on students with medical, learning, or other welfare needs
  • Work closely with all departments and contribute to school-wide communication
  • Help prepare and run arrival days
  • Relay activity information to staff and students
  • Prepare and deliver briefings to new staff
  • Monitor student attendance in lessons and activities
  • Escalate welfare or disciplinary concerns to the manager when appropriate
  • Handle student discipline matters when required
  • Respond to daily student and staff queries
  • Share emergency duty responsibilities on a rota basis
Requirements
  • Must be a team player that can lead from the front, be outgoing and have great attention to detail
  • Previous experience in a customer service environment, ideally working with young people and strong emotional intelligence
  • You should be passionate about customer service and providing quality
  • Ability to work under pressure and in a high paced environment
  • In terms of mindset, we all have a ‘going above and beyond, never settling for the status quo' mentality
  • All offers are subject to a clear enhanced DBS check and two references
  • Right to work in the UK upon commencement of your contract
  • This is a live-in position where accommodation and full board is provided at no extra cost, there are some residential requirements attached to this
