Overview of the Role and Key Goals
The Placement Coordinator, Education Placement Consultant, is responsible for finding, overseeing, and administering every work experience placement. The primary strategy is to proactively find and establish partnerships with schools, especially those with Skilled Worker Visa Sponsorship Licences, to maximize the conversion of trainee placements into permanent, sponsored work contracts.
Principal Duties
1. Establishing Collaborations and Sourcing Sponsorships
- Strategic Sourcing: Investigate, target, and build enduring connections with HR departments and head teachers in schools and Multi‑Academy Trusts.
- Sponsorship Focus: Ensure all partnership leads provide a feasible visa pathway for foreign trainees by focusing on institutions that possess the Skilled Worker Visa Sponsorship Licence.
- Contract Management: Work with partner schools to negotiate and implement Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
- Advocacy: Visit schools to evaluate placement quality and build ties.
2. Placement, Conversion, and Trainee Vetting
- Compliance Vetting: Oversee the required procedure for acquiring and monitoring DBS checks for every student, guaranteeing adherence to placement regulations.
- Preparation & Matching: Perform thorough applicant screening, give students pre‑placement orientations, and carefully pair trainees with the best educational setting.
- Performance Monitoring: Serve as the main point of contact, monitoring trainee performance and gathering input from mentors at the school.
- Conversion Focus: Follow up with schools proactively to determine the likelihood that the placement will result in a permanent employment contract and/or visa sponsorship.
3. Reporting and Operational Management
- Data Management: Verify that all employment, placement, and trainee data are appropriately entered, saved, and updated daily on the CRM/ATS system.
- Reporting: Monitor key KPIs for placement success and provide management with weekly summaries of placement data.
- Support: Perform related tasks, such as calling students and informing instructors of trainee placement status.
Organisational Behaviour and Responsibility
- Professional Standards: Always adhere to confidentiality, data protection, and safeguarding (IAG) regulations.
- Accountability: Participate in frequent performance reviews and provide accurate departmental performance reports.
- IT Proficiency: Excellent skills in CRM data entry, Excel, Google Suite, and a commitment to using formal English in all correspondence.
Essential Competencies and Credentials
- Experience: At least two years of demonstrated expertise in sales, relationship management, or educational recruitment in the UK school sector.
- Industry Knowledge: In‑depth familiarity with the UK education system (QTS, MATs) and the sponsorship procedure for the skilled worker visa.
- Core Competencies: Outstanding communication, negotiation, organisational skills, and meticulous attention to detail in CRM data management.
