You will use your leadership, technical expertise and problem-solving abilities to create innovative solutions to challenges faced within the marine sector. Alongside your team you will be involved in the full life cycle of new products, working closely with other departments (such as hardware and mechanical engineering) to produce vital, high quality and reliable devices for our customers.**Primary Duties & Responsibilities:*** Lead and Line manage a team of technical authorities and line managers.* Provide technical direction for the company’s software engineering activities.* Lead initiatives to improve the company’s software quality across the product range.* Keep up to date with industry trends with the Software community.* Work closely with all product development teams to keep the R&D process flowing smoothly.* Maintain the team’s budget and drive for value for money.* Work closely with the Product Management teams, to maintain Product Backlog efficiency.* Work within an agile environment and experience with SAFe Value Streams**Job Qualifications:*** Degree level engineering qualification* Proven experience as a software engineering leader.* Track record of building performing teams* Career experience in developing C/C++ for embedded systems* Experience with leading offshore software development teams.* Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail* Excellent collaboration and communication skills* Ability to drive new strategies and continuous process improvements.* Ability to be on site at least 4 days per week.This position requires access to export-controlled information or items (i.e. regulated technology or technical data per ITAR/EAR US regulations).
