Job description
Overview

Would you like to be part of the team delivering one of the UK's largest and most complex nuclear projects?

Do you thrive on getting people to work, driving installation on site, and pushing day-to-day construction delivery?

Then our in-house MEP Engineering business, Crown House Technologies, is the company for you. We are looking for an experienced Mechanical Construction Manager to join the team at Hinkley Point C, the nuclear power station currently under construction in Bridgwater, Somerset.

If you join us, you'll be a valued member of an industry-leading team and company that can offer you an exciting and varied career with access to some truly great projects. We are committed to extensive training, development, and long-term career opportunities and as such this role is suitable for someone who is seeking long-term career progression.

Responsibilities

We are looking for an experienced Mechanical Construction Manager to lead the mechanical installation ensuring works are delivered safely, to quality standards, and in line with programme requirements. You will work closely with site management, planners, engineers, and the wider project team to remove blockers and keep work fronts moving.

Crown House Technologies are proud to have been appointed for the M&E fit-out of the Operations Service Centre at Hinkley Point C. The Operations Service Centre is a major nine-storey facility that will support the operation of the power station, housing offices, medical facilities, data centres, workshops, labs, warehousing, and welfare facilities for approximately 350 operational staff. This is a hands-on construction management role, focused on:

  • Driving mechanical trades and subcontractors on site
  • Planning and sequencing installation activities
  • Ensuring labour is effectively resourced and productive
  • Managing day-to-day construction delivery against programme
Qualifications
  • A mechanical background, with a construction-related qualification, or industry-recognised technical qualification (e.g. NVQ Level 4)
  • Strong experience managing mechanical construction delivery on site, rather than purely project or commercial management
  • Proven ability to drive mechanical trades, manage subcontractors, and put labour to work efficiently
  • Experience delivering large-scale, complex, and regulated construction projects (MEP values typically £15m–£100m+)
  • Nuclear or other highly regulated environment experience is advantageous
  • Strong understanding of mechanical installation methods, temporary works, and safe systems of work
  • Practical knowledge of mechanical engineering principles and installation requirements
  • Ability to manage site documentation, permits, and compliance with health, safety, and company standards
