Description
Performing the safe manual loading and collection of redundant batteries from multi-floor customer locations on a multi collection route, and the onward transport of waste to the relevant disposal outlet on a national scale.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out the manual loading of waste batteries at customer sites in a safe, compliant, and efficient manner, with support from a driver’s mate, where appropriate.
- Using all equipment in a safe manner and according to the company procedures, to carry out safety checks prior to and after use, reporting any faults/safety issues in timely manner and in accordance with the company procedures.
- Ensure all waste not presented for collection at the designated collection point is recorded and reported.
- Accurate completion of all compliance documentation as per the Hazardous Waste Regulations.
- To adhere to ADR Regulations regarding the carriage of dangerous goods.
- To comply with legal requirements and Company policies whilst operating a company vehicle.
- To report any near misses, security and/or safety issues, at customer and Enva sites.
- To adhere to customer security, health and safety, and site rule requirements whilst operating at their sites.
- Ensure waste is loaded correctly and safely and all spillages are cleared up immediately and reported.
- Check vehicle and report all incidents including tip damage prior to leaving site.
- To adhere to all Company safety rules and current legislation.
- To comply with legal requirements and Company policies including Tachograph requirements.
- Responsible for daily vehicle checks and cleanliness of allocated vehicle maintaining company standards.
- Be a positive representative for the company at all times.
- Identify and communicate any additional customer requirements communicating to the line manager.
- Any additional duties as required.
Skills, Knowledge & Expertise
- Experience and knowledge of EU & WTD Tachograph Regulations.
- Good geographical knowledge of mainland UK.
- Good understanding of Highway Code and “Hierarchy of Road Users”.
- A good understanding of Operator Licence obligations and regulations
- Customer focused with experience of managing customer expectations appropriately.
- To remain flexible in order to meet operational needs when required.
- Highly organised with the ability to prioritise effectively and to plan and manage own workload accordingly.
- Good communication skills.
- Ability to handle complaints effectively, maintaining a solution focussed approach.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to develop effective and positive working relationships.
- Positive and motivated with a flexible and adaptable attitude.
- Must demonstrate high levels of integrity and adopt a professional approach in all interactions – should be transparent, open, and honest in all dealings.
