Overview

Chester-le-Street CE Primary School is seeking a committed and enthusiastic individual to join our Governing Body as a Co-opted Governor.

As part of our school team, you’ll help shape the strategic direction of the school, support our leadership, and make a real difference in the lives of our children and community. We are proud to be a caring, inclusive, and forward-thinking Church of England primary school where every child is encouraged to achieve their best in a nurturing environment rooted in our Christian values.

Responsibilities
  • Attending around six governing body meetings per year (usually evenings).
  • Working as part of a team to support and challenge the school leadership.
  • Helping to ensure that all pupils receive the best possible education.
  • Using your skills, experience, and insight to strengthen our school community.
Who we are looking for

You don’t need to have experience in education – we welcome applications from all backgrounds. What matters most is enthusiasm, commitment, and a desire to make a difference. Skills in areas such as finance, HR, data analysis, education, or community work would be especially valuable.
