Job description
Summary Of Role

As a Junior Designer, you’ll support the Design Team in creating and developing stylish, functional, and high-quality outdoor, travel and casualwear products for women and accessories. You will contribute to the design process from concept to final product, helping to deliver consumer‑focused ranges that reflect current trends, brand values, and seasonal strategies. Your role is key in supporting the team to exceed the expectations of our female customers who value performance, comfort, and style.

Key Responsibilities
Design & Development
  • Take ownership of design tasks from initial concept through to final product, ensuring alignment with brand aesthetics and market trends in women’s outdoor, travel, casualwear and accessories categories.
  • Design with a clear understanding of target cost prices, ensuring product concepts meet commercial requirements without compromising quality or brand integrity.
  • Lead the creation of seasonal mood boards, colour palettes, and trend research, presenting ideas that support the wider design direction.
  • Create accurate CAD drawings and maintain tech packs to ensure smooth sample development and production processes.
  • Actively participate in fit sessions and design reviews, capturing feedback and updating documentation to reflect design decisions.
  • Contribute to product engineering by proposing creative and cost‑effective design solutions that balance performance, style, and margin targets.
  • Proactively research innovations in fabrics, trims, and sustainable practices, identifying opportunities to enhance product functionality and appeal.
  • Regularly review existing and in‑development products to ensure they align with the Rohan customers’ needs, preferences, and expectations.
Trend & Market Research
  • Regularly research trends, competitor products, and consumer preferences in the women’s travel and casualwear space.
  • Share findings with the wider design and product teams to inform seasonal direction and product development.
  • Explore new technologies, materials, and design approaches that could enhance product performance and appeal.
Team Support & Administration
  • Assist with organising samples, updating visual overviews, and maintaining design documentation.
  • Support the team in preparing presentations and materials for internal meetings and range reviews.
  • Ensure all style and colour information is accurately communicated across departments.
  • Help manage timelines and deliverables in line with the seasonal calendar, flagging risks to deadlines.
  • Continue building knowledge of garment construction, fit, and pattern‑making through hands‑on experience and mentorship.
Skills & Experience
  • A degree or equivalent qualification in Fashion Design, or a related field.
  • 1‑2+ years within a Women’swear Design Assistant or Junior Designer role.
  • Strong interest in women’s travel and casualwear, with an eye for detail and a passion for functional fashion.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, InDesign and Photoshop.
  • Good understanding of garment construction and fabric types.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast‑paced, creative environment.
  • Strong organisational skills and a proactive attitude.
  • Willingness to travel occasionally within the UK and internationally.
What You’ll Gain
  • Hands‑on experience in the full design lifecycle.
  • Exposure to a dynamic product development team.
  • Opportunities to grow your skills in trend forecasting, technical design, and sustainable innovation.
  • A chance to contribute to products that empower women to travel and explore with confidence.
Whats in it for you?
  • Clothing allowance
  • 50% discount on our own clothing
  • Contributions to a Pension scheme
  • Life cover based on salary
  • Other Group benefits
