What’s the role?

We’re looking for an experienced Senior Game Writer to join our internal writing team. In this role, you’ll oversee the delivery of high-quality written game content, collaborating with various disciplines to ensure the game's storytelling aligns with the broader creative vision, while adhering to technical constraints and localisation requirements.

What you’ll be doing
  • Partner with the Game Director and discipline leads of the project to understand, define, and deliver text and narrative needs for the game.
  • Collaborate closely with the Design team to shape the game’s narrative design and general player experience.
  • Estimate, schedule and manage all text requirements to ensure work is delivered to a high standard, on-time and in-budget.
  • Promote good narrative and text authoring practice across the project, driving the creation of style guides, glossaries and other supporting documentation.
  • Review text content from developers and external writers, preparing it for in-game use.
  • Support the voice casting and recording processes, providing any necessary materials and delivering feedback.
  • Liaise with the Localisation team to adapt written content, ensuring it is suitable for our global audience.
What you’ll bring
  • Experience in shipping several game projects, with extensive cross-discipline collaboration (UI, game design, audio, etc.).
  • Strong copywriting and editorial skills, covering all written and spoken game content.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to foster strong cross-disciplinary relationships to understand the needs of stakeholders and other departments.
  • Expertise in storytelling and world-building within a visual/interactive medium.
  • Enthusiasm for both the creative and technical responsibilities of the role.
  • Experience mentoring team members, supporting their personal and professional development and nurturing a cooperative and supportive culture.
Bonus if you have
  • Experience working in a writing or narrative capacity in commercial games, preferably in AAA.
  • Knowledge of management simulation games (especially Frontier titles).
What we can offer you

You will work with talented and passionate people to support, develop or publish our sophisticated and enduring games, in a creative, collaborative and inclusive environment. We love what we do, and we work hard to provide outstanding experiences for our players.

Wellbeing is a big focus at Frontier, and we are continually evolving how we can support our people. We encourage a healthy work/life balance and provide a range of wellbeing activities, initiatives and sessions to support both mental and physical health.

We offer a competitive salary and benefits package, which includes a success-based annual bonus, share option schemes, life assurance, private family healthcare, flexitime working hours, enhanced maternity/paternity leave, in-house subsidised catering, support with relocation, a Cycle to Work scheme, free bike servicing, and social activities and events.
