Production Operator

Job description

We are looking to recruit a Tape & Reel Production Operator to meet the demand of our increasing customer orders within Production.This position, which is based in our Glenrothes facility at Southfield Industrial Estate is permanent, subject to completion of a satisfactory 3-month probation period.

Candidates should have previous experience in a fast paced production environment, have an eye for fine detail, good dexterity and be able to work unsupervised. Previous experience in a busy despatch environment is preferred and the role includes the following duties:

• Working to the production plan ensuring all timescales are met.
• Taping & Reeling of customers’ products onto various types of machinery.
• Operation of manual and automatic machines, peel strength tester, cropping machines, inspection, vacuum machine, bar code machine etc.
• Carry out the daily machine/workbench maintenance.
• Accurately record information on all relevant paperwork.
• Use the computer system and ERP system to process the product.
• Highlight any problem areas to the Supervisor/Chargehand and advise any ideas on improvement to processes/procedures.
• Training within other production departments during quieter times
• Basic computer literacy skills including Microsoft Office (or similar), ERP Systems.
• Excellent time keeping and attendance.
• Flexible and hard working, working as part of a team, good communication skills.
• Dayshift Hours – Monday to Thursday 8am – 5pm, Friday 8am – 2pm
• 40 hours per week
• Training will be provided by our Despatch Chargehand
• Pension provided by AEGON
• Paid monthly
