Job description

Tamara Ralph, a renowned Couture house, is seeking an exceptional Pattern Cutter to join her atelier team. Working closely with the founder and wider atelier, this individual will play a vital role in bringing the brand’s refined, feminine modern aesthetic to life through impeccable craftsmanship and technical excellence.

Key Responsibilities
  • Creates accurate first manual patterns for collection development and client made to measure including corsets. Interpreting design sketches into beautifully constructed garments with impeccable fit.
  • Collaborates closely with the Designer to translate creative concepts into workable patterns while maintaining the integrity of the design vision.
  • Works hand‑in‑hand with the atelier, seamstresses throughout the toiling process up to the finished garment.
  • Takes measurements, conducts fittings, notes alterations and refines patterns to achieve exceptional fit, silhouette and proportion.
  • Develops patterns using a blend of traditional manual techniques like flat pattern and draping
  • Provides tech packs, which includes fabric consumptions, construction details and garment engineering.
  • Ensures patterns are neat and accurate for other team members and suppliers to work with.
  • Maintains pattern archives and supports the development of new blocks, shapes and construction techniques.
  • Upholds the highest standards of craftsmanship, precision and luxury finishing.
  • Is able to work together/ instruct pattern cutter assistants to be time efficient.
Candidate Profile
  • Strong experience as a Pattern Cutter within luxury womenswear made to measure/ collection development environment
  • Excellent understanding of garment construction, draping, cutting and tailoring techniques.
  • Ability to work directly from sketches and translate creative ideas into technical solutions.
  • A meticulous approach with exceptional attention to detail and finishing while meeting Deadlines.
  • Confident attending and leading fittings, working collaboratively with designer and senior management
  • Strong communication skills and a proactive, problem‑solving mindset and taking responsibility to make sure a project is complete and handed over with all necessary information.
  • Passionate about craftsmanship, luxury products and the creation of beautifully made garments
