Role

MHE Trainer
Mercia Park (Tamworth) — Mon-Fri, 37.5 hours per week

Responsibilities
  • Design and develop comprehensive training programs for various types of material handling equipment (MHE), including forklifts, pallet jacks, cherry pickers, and reach trucks.
  • Deliver hands-on training sessions and classroom instruction to new hires and current employees.
  • Ensure training materials are up-to-date and aligned with current regulations and industry standards.
  • Conduct practical assessments and written tests to evaluate trainees’ competency.
  • Issue certifications to operators who meet required standards of proficiency.
  • Maintain detailed records of training sessions and certifications.
  • Ensure all training programs comply with UK health and safety regulations and company policies.
  • Promote a culture of safety within the workplace through regular training and awareness sessions.
  • Stay current with changes in safety regulations and update training programs accordingly.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of training programs and implement improvements as needed.
  • Gather feedback from trainees and managers to enhance training content and delivery methods.
  • Stay informed about developments in MHE technology and training techniques.
  • Assist in the development of safe operating procedures and risk assessments for MHE use.
  • Provide guidance and support to operators in resolving operational challenges.
  • Conduct refresher training sessions to ensure ongoing competency and compliance.
  • Prepare and submit regular reports on training activities, progress, and outcomes.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date training records, including attendance, assessments, and certifications.
  • Ensure all training documentation is compliant with legal and company requirements.
About You
  • Certified MHE trainer with recognised credentials (e.g., RTITB, ITSSAR, AITT RTITB preferred).
  • Extensive experience operating various types of material handling equipment.
  • Strong knowledge of UK health and safety regulations related to MHE.
  • Proven experience in designing and delivering training programs.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Experience in a warehouse or logistics environment is preferred.
  • Familiarity with learning management systems (LMS) and training software.
  • Strong organisational and record-keeping skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • The role involves working in a warehouse setting and classroom environment.
  • Travel between different company sites for training delivery is required.
  • Flexible working hours may be necessary to accommodate training schedules.
