The White House Clinic is looking to recruit experienced and enthusiastic First Contact Practitioners (FCPs), or Senior MSK Physiotherapists wishing to train as FCPs, to join our team. Candidates must have a minimum of 3 years of MSK post-graduate experience and own transport.

The practice has been a leading provider of physiotherapy and FCP services across Sheffield, North East Derbyshire, and North Nottinghamshire for over 50 years. We are expanding our FCP services in GP clinics across Sheffield & Derbyshire. These roles are ideally suited for full-time candidates, though part-time options are considered.

Hours for role: 37.5 hours per week

Job type: Full-time/Part-time - Permanent

Job working schedule: Monday to Friday

Job Description

Position Summary:

The First Contact Practitioner provides specialist MSK physiotherapy assessments and treatments in various settings, working autonomously and within GP surgeries/primary care networks as part of a multidisciplinary team. You will also contribute to service development and training programs, offering:

• Face-to-face appointments
• Virtual appointments (video and telephone)
• Digital MSK support for common conditions

Job Purpose:

• Provide clinical expertise as a first-contact physiotherapist, making decisions regarding patient care, including undifferentiated conditions. This involves seeing patients independently to establish diagnoses and management plans.
• Request and interpret investigations to aid diagnosis, understanding test limitations and interpreting results to inform treatment.
• Deliver supported patient self-management programs to promote behavioral change, physical activity, mobility, independence, and reduce reliance on medication.

Main Overview of Role:

• Independently assess and diagnose patients, developing appropriate treatment plans centered on evidence-based practice.
• Seek support from senior physiotherapists when necessary.
• Maintain accurate physiotherapy records in line with HCPC regulations.
• Complete medical reports promptly when required.
• Participate in ongoing CPD to meet professional standards.
• Communicate effectively with staff, patients, and relatives.
• Contribute to the development of new FCP clinics and services.
• Coordinate annual leave with other PCN FCP staff and the PCN lead FCP.
• Work alongside PCN lead FCPs and management team.
