Job description

Throughout its history, St John Ambulance has always stepped forward in the moments that matter to save lives and support communities. This key and important role involves providing clinical care to patients presenting to St John Ambulance Night Time Economy hubs. Responsibilities include supporting vulnerable patients, those under the influence of alcohol or illicit drugs, and managing common pre-hospital injuries and illnesses.

Locations: Skelmersdale, Preston, Lancaster, Blackpool, Morecambe, Burnley, Clitheroe

About You:

• Registered nurse, paramedic, or doctor (without cautions or restrictions)
• Experience in managing acutely unwell patients in emergency settings, such as emergency departments or pre-hospital environments
• Experience in accessing and referring to alternative care pathways
• Able to work night shifts, approximately 2100-0600hrs

About The Role:

• Provide clinical care at Night Time Economy hubs
• Deliver care in line with your regulatory body's standards (HCPC, NMC, GMC)
• Work within the Scope of Practice framework set by St John Ambulance
• Attend emergencies locally as part of a response team
• Utilise senior clinical help for complex situations
• Make appropriate referrals to other agencies
• Maintain infection prevention and control standards
• Opportunities to work at non-NTE events may also be available
