Overview

Driver – Circle Decontamination - Radlett; 15 Hours & Permanent; Salary: £24,990.00 FTE per year (depending on level of experience, training and qualification).

Circle Health Group Decontamination is responsible for the provision of sterile equipment and instrumentation for use in surgical and interventional procedures in hospitals across England and Glasgow. The unit operates 24 hours a day/7 days a week with rotating shifts covering days and nights as required. We have an opportunity for a Driver to join their team of staff in the Decontamination department. This is a part-time role for 15 hours a week with a flexible shift pattern.

Responsibilities
  • Collect contaminated trolleys from hospitals and clinics and deliver them to the CHG decontamination facility.
  • Return clean trolleys containing reprocessed scopes and instruments to clinical departments in a safe, timely, and courteous manner.
  • Operate company vehicles (up to 3.5t) fitted with tail lifts in accordance with all applicable road safety regulations.
  • Maintain daily delivery schedules, keeping to time-sensitive routes while ensuring excellent customer service.
  • Perform daily vehicle checks, monitor fuel, oil, tyre pressure, and report any defects immediately.
  • Keep the vehicle clean, presentable, and in good working order, both inside and out.
  • Maintain accurate vehicle records, including mileage logs and delivery documentation.
  • Follow all infection prevention protocols for vehicle cleanliness and cross-contamination avoidance.
Applicants Should Meet The Following Criteria
  • A full, clean UK driving licence (Category B), valid for operation of vehicles up to and including 3.5t.
  • Proven experience of driving vans with tail lifts, ideally in a commercial or healthcare setting.
  • Comfortable driving in urban and rural environments, in all weather conditions, and under time pressure.
  • Ability to carry out manual handling and lifting duties safely, with appropriate training.
  • A good standard of general education, with the ability to complete delivery logs and read route instructions.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including early mornings, late evenings, weekends or public holidays if required.
  • A commitment to maintaining vehicle hygiene and safety standards.
