CBRE – London Valuation (Corporate Valuations/Accelerator Group)

Role Purpose

This role sits within the Accelerator Group, which is a division focussed on providing valuation advice across some of the key growth areas in commercial real estate. The role is principally attached to the Corporate Valuation Services team, but will work alongside other specialist sectors, including data centres, life sciences and compulsory purchase. The Corporate Valuation Services team is the market leader in providing valuation advice to corporate occupier clients. The role is international in scope, working on assignments across EMEA and the globe, with the chance to travel for inspections and meetings with clients. Adaptability, flexibility and an ability to clearly communicate with a wide array of stakeholders are important attributes. This comprises a role in a growing team, giving excellent prospects for significant client exposure and career advancement to the right candidate.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct valuation and advisory work for loan security, accounting, fund reporting, acquisition, investment, etc purposes, with appropriate support.
  • Conduct physical property inspections including complex properties.
  • Manage opportunity records up to execution and take responsibility for accurately reporting to senior team members.
  • Conduct technical aspects of property due diligence and review valuation data.
  • Select appropriate comparables, performing analysis and drawing conclusions.
  • Perform valuation modelling (including DCF modelling), calculations and analysis and support for senior valuers on more complex valuations.
  • Close liaison with clients ensuring high quality advice is consistently delivered.
  • Preparation of reports.
  • Alongside senior colleagues, take responsibility for business development, RFPs and pitch activities.
  • Gather and share relevant market intelligence and support senior members of the team with other value‑add tasks.
  • Support with training and mentoring more junior members of the team to develop management skills.
  • Mentor and manage a small group of direct reports.
  • Work flexibly across sectors and services within the Division and support other Divisions as and when required.
Person Specification/Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Real Estate, Surveying, or a related field.
  • MRICS qualified or equivalent, with a minimum of 6 years post qualification experience.
  • Knowledge of property valuation methodologies and techniques, in particular investment and trading.
  • Proficiency in using valuation software and tools, such as Argus Enterprise & Developer and Excel.
  • Proficiency in reporting and data analytical tools to drive operational efficiency and reduce potential data transposition errors.
  • Good understanding of property market trends and factors influencing property values.
  • Knowledge of relevant regulations and standards in property valuation.
  • Willingness to learn and develop professional skills.
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively in a team and support senior valuers, but is also able to operate autonomously in an efficient and productive manner.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, enabling the development of good relationships with both clients and colleagues.
  • Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail.
  • Ability to prioritise tasks, delegate where appropriate and meet deadlines. Enjoys working under pressure in a fast paced, dynamic environment.
  • Valid UK driving licence.
