Main Purpose of the Role
- Reporting to: EMEA Co‑Heads of Structured Solutions
- Accountability for the Structured Solutions – Europe (SSE) department within the Structured Solutions Business Unit (ST) and MUS(EMEA).
Key Responsibilities
- Planning, Strategy Development and Execution – Structurer
- Contributing to successful execution of departmental strategy in line with regional, international and entity requirements. Responsibilities include ensuring day‑to‑day activities and those of direct reports align with overall strategy and meet or exceed financial and non‑financial targets.
- Adhering to departmental mandates, Trader Charter, internal policies and regulatory requirements.
- Managing and monitoring departmental/applicable books’ risks and associated controls within predefined limits set by Risk Management and the Risk Management Committee.
- Maintaining good working relationships between Sales and Trading and stakeholders across the region and globally.
- Managing direct budget expenditures and working in partnership with GM, GCIB and JCIB teams to develop the business globally.
- Ensuring accurate pricing of all new transactions and risk positions using market‑leading methodologies, assessing market, credit, compliance and operational risks holistically.
- Managing all relevant risks (market, credit, operational, conduct and xVA) within the firm’s risk appetite and ensuring compliance with approved risk limits.
- Protecting and enhancing the firm’s and group’s reputation in all activities.
- Delivering and growing a sustainable, client‑focused, flow‑oriented business and leveraging the group’s customer franchise to maximise profitability.
- Collaborating with Sales, Trading and Research to deliver products that meet client needs and working with other group parts to deliver franchise and business growth.
- Ensuring compliance with internal risk and compliance requirements, controls and procedures, following all relevant policies and ensuring team members do the same.
- Recruiting, developing and managing a high‑quality team, ensuring clear job descriptions, objectives, performance reviews and training in line with HR requirements.
- Maintaining good working relationships with stakeholders globally, sharing best practices and supporting the One MUFG and overall Group strategy.
Skills and Experience
- Extensive deal experience in origination, structuring and execution of infrastructure financing transactions.
- Knowledge of a broad range of underlying asset classes within infrastructure financing (e.g., infrastructure NAV or single‑asset infrastructure financing).
- Experience in analysis and execution of such financing transactions and in-depth underlying asset‑level analysis and valuation, particularly relating to sponsor equity stakes in private companies.
- Ability to present and discuss infrastructure financing transactions with external clients, leveraging client relationships to originate new opportunities.
