About the Role

Jubilant Biosys Ltd works with many of the leading Biotech and Pharma companies of the world. With the primary goal of expanding its footprint in Europe, this key role will lead the Business Development function in a defined territory. This role will perform strategic and operational tasks primarily consisting of lead generation and expanding client sales. These tasks will include market research, qualifying and cold calling to prospective customers to secure meetings, all to promote Jubilant Biosys’ service offerings. These offerings are comprised of Integrated Discovery programs, Synthetic/ Medicinal Chemistry, Scale up, CDMO including GMP Manufacturing, in-vitro and in-vivo Biology, Structural Biology and DMPK/Toxicology and Antibody Generation.

Responsibilities
  • Represent the Business Development function and Biosys in a manner that matches the client’s expectations and needs.
  • Drive achievement of top line business development goals, primarily in new business within Europe, by targeting Biotech and Large Pharma.
  • Lead key BD processes such as new business demand generation including NDA/ MSA processing, RFP generation, coordination of technical discussions, pricing finalization, deal negotiation and closure of business.
  • Deliver an outstanding business relationship experience via detailed and end to end relationship management, managing existing business and by maintaining regular contact and interactions with customers.
  • Experience in deal structuring, contract drafting and negotiation.
  • Generate market intelligence through networking and actively engage existing customers for cross-selling/up-selling Jubilant’s discovery services.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, support and develop teams, share expert knowledge on the operating territory, and demonstrate commitment to the organization’s vision and values.
  • Represent Biosys in industry conferences and marketing activities; plan and execute on the ground to strengthen Jubilant’s brand in Europe.
  • Ensure timely and detailed MIS, weekly updates and CRM (Salesforce) usage to document and summarize market actions.

  • Strong relationship management with clients and stakeholders; ability to maintain regular contact and interactions with customers.
  • Experience in market intelligence through networking and cross-selling/up-selling related to discovery services.
  • Technologically savvy with an excellent network in the drug discovery biotech domain.
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills; ability to build business relationships in a matrix environment.
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams and planning new BD initiatives across leadership levels.
About the Ideal Profile

The candidate for this role will need to have the following:

  • Experience with biotech, CRO, Big Pharma, Academia, chemical, pharma manufacturing industries. Exposure to drug discovery and development is an added advantage.
  • Experience in roles spanning Marketing, Business Strategy and International Business Development is an added advantage.
  • Minimum 5-15 years of industry experience with at least 5 years in a similar role and scale.
  • Resourceful professional with interdisciplinary skills and international work experience in Business Development and business strategy.
  • Expertise in identifying and generating opportunities in Medicinal Chemistry, Biology, DMPK & Structural Biology under FFS and FTE.
  • Technologically adept with an extensive network in the drug discovery biotech domain.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to build lasting business relationships.
  • Experience in a matrix operating environment, with the ability to plan and execute BD initiatives across leadership levels.
Reporting Structure

Roles Reports To: Sr. VP of Business Development or Regional Business Development Director
