Qualifications

  • HR Licence required.
  • 5+ years relevant post-trade experience, including Field Service exposure.
  • Experience with CAT/Terex/Bucyrus fleet HMS required.
  • High competence in mobile hydraulic & low voltage electrical systems.
  • Ability to instruct and knowledge share on site.

Responsibilities

  • Act as the link between Customer, WesTrac, and Caterpillar for HMS technical information.
  • Assist with HMS preventative maintenance and troubleshooting.
  • Provide technical reporting and training strategies for HMS products.
  • Increase performance and reliability of the HMS product line.

Your new role as the Digger Technician reports into the HMS Supervisor.

About

WesTrac’s newly established HMS & Drill Services business unit is driving the future of aftermarket solutions for Heavy Mining Shovels and Drill Rigs. With state‑of‑the‑art workshops and facilities under development, we’re building a passionate, high‑performing team ready to shape what’s next in mining services.

Hourly Rate

$55 - $90 an hour (dependent on experience).

Roster Options

8 days on, 6 off; 14 days on, 7 off; 14 days on, 14 off – 12.5hrs (inclusive of 30mins meal break).

What you'll do
  • The HMS (Digger) Technician is the link between the Customer, Westrac and Caterpillar for all HMS technical product information, documentation, and continuous improvement concepts.
  • Pro‑actively assist with HMS preventative maintenance schedules, maintenance teams for planning work scopes and HMS troubleshooting.
  • Technical reporting and product instruction/training strategies to improve HMS product knowledge for the wider work group.
  • Accountable to increase the all‑round performance, reliability, and availability of the designated HMS product line.
Skills & Experience
  • HR Licence.
  • 5+ years post‑trade relevant experience including Field Service exposure with Hydraulic Mining Shovels.
  • CAT/OEM Dealership experience with CAT/Terex/Bucyrus fleet HMS 2+ years.
  • High level of competence on mobile hydraulic & low voltage electrical systems used in Hydraulic Mining Shovels.
  • Demonstrated understanding of HMS machine application on site and optimum operation knowledge.
  • Ability to work autonomously or with others & lead customer work groups onsite, instruct/teach & knowledge share.
  • HMS commissioning and hydraulic tune‑up experience.
