Key Responsibilities
On-Site & Remote Support
  • Provide comprehensive IT support for remote sites in and around the Camberley region.
  • Offer after-hours on-call support for designated sites as required.
  • Travel to customer locations across the region as needed.
Infrastructure Management & Maintenance
  • Install, configure, and maintain complex hardware and software systems in the field.
  • Maintain and update the existing network infrastructure, including adding connectivity via copper and fibre.
  • Manage and monitor client networks and systems, including servers, routers, switches, and firewalls.
  • Develop and implement system maintenance procedures to ensure maximum system uptime.
  • Perform LAN and Voice MACDs (Moves, Adds, Changes, and Deletions).
Hardware & Asset Management
  • Manage the Hardware Depot/ Hardware Recovery Centre.
  • Handle loaner equipment management, parts ordering, and inventory management.
  • Oversee shipping and receiving operations.
  • Perform new PC setup, installation, re-imaging, and end-user data transfer.
  • Provision authentication hardware like active smart cards, Active Keys, and smart card readers.
Administrative & Customer Service
  • Create and maintain detailed documentation of hardware/software systems and procedures.
  • Manage inventory of spare equipment and supplies, maintaining accurate spreadsheets.
  • Provide exceptional customer service, ensuring client needs are addressed promptly and professionally.
  • Act as a liaison between clients and vendors to ensure effective issue resolution.
  • Participate in operational meetings as required.
  • Provide support to other HPIT support teams as needed.
  • Manage and resolve incidents through to completion.
Requirements
  • At least 1 year of experience in a technical support or IT field engineering role.
  • Proven practical work experience in a similar role.
  • Advanced knowledge of Windows OS (knowledge of Mac or Linux is a bonus).
  • A valid UK driver's license and personal vehicle for travel to sites.
  • Fluency in English is essential.
  • Willingness to travel to customers across the region as required.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Strong organisational and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage schedule on multiple projects effectively.
  • Transparent and effective communication skills.
