Data Engineer / Junior – Mid Level / £40,000 – £55,000 / Remote (UK) / 6-month FTC

We’re recruiting a Junior – Mid level Data Engineer to join a cloud‑first data team working on a major migration programme. This is a hands‑on role for someone who wants to grow their data engineering skills while helping move legacy ETL into a modern Databricks + Azure platform.

Why this role?

You’ll play a visible part in a large migration project – re‑platforming and modernising pipelines, improving data quality, and helping the team adopt CI/CD for data workloads. Great mentoring and exposure to end‑to‑end pipelines.

Day‑to‑day
  • Build, run and maintain ETL/ELT pipelines on Databricks / Azure.
  • Implement data transformations, data quality checks and monitoring.
  • Support migration of legacy jobs into Databricks notebooks / jobs.
  • Work within CI/CD pipelines for testing and deployment.
  • Collaborate with engineers, analysts and product owners to deliver features.
Must‑haves
  • 1 – 4 years’ data engineering / analytics engineering experience.
  • Experience with Databricks and Azure (Data Factory, Data Lake, SQL).
  • Strong SQL + Python.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD concepts (pipelines, automation).
Nice‑to‑haves
  • Knowledge of data modelling and performance tuning.

Salary: £40,000 – £55,000 DOE

Location: Fully remote (UK‑based)
