Job description
Cyber Security Industrial Placement - 2026-2027

Solis Greater London, England, United Kingdom

Our industrial placement is a 12-month immersive program based in London. It's designed to give computer science and cyber security students real‑world experience in a cyber security role and exposure to areas such as: Digital Forensics & Incident Response (DFIR), Cyber Threat Research Labs (CTRL), Incident Management (IM) and Managed Detection and Response (MDR).

The 2026 program will run from July 2026 to July 2027. You will be paid an annual salary and receive staff benefits.

About the placement and what to expect

You will join CFC Response, our award‑winning cyber security and incident response team. With more than two decades of experience, our global team of cyber security engineers, incident responders and forensic specialists successfully prevent and remediate thousands of cyber events for our customers each year.

You’ll work in our London office and be fully integrated into life as a full‑time employee. You will gain exposure to different specialist teams within CFC Response:

  • The DFIR team is set up to investigate the ‘what’ and ‘how’ of an incident, assisting the client in understanding the scope of compromise and potential impact.
  • The Cyber Threat Research Labs (CTRL) team’s primary responsibility is to reduce cyber risk for our policyholders, by first detecting and then helping remediate known vulnerabilities.
  • The CIM team triages the incident to understand the big picture, enabling and coordinating all of the resources required to support the incident to final closure.
  • The MDR team conducts monitoring, detection, threat hunting and initial response for clients both proactively and during a cyber incident.

You’ll develop technical skills and experience, learning from high‑performance teams who are experts in their field and tackling cyber threats day‑in, day‑out. You’ll also receive an introduction to the insurance industry, develop stakeholder management skills, and be exposed to the latest technology and techniques.

How to apply and who should apply?

We’re looking for cyber security or computer science students who:

  • Want to explore different areas of cyber security
  • Are interested in professional or managed services
  • Have innovative and creative mindsets
  • Are willing to deliver results and achieve goals
  • Act with integrity and attention to detail
  • Thrive in a team and are self‑motivated
  • Are eligible to work in the UK and currently in year two of a sandwich year degree course

We keep it real, and we’ve got each other’s backs. Inclusion is practical: fair hiring, accessible development, and everyday respect open up opportunities for everyone. We’re building a workplace that reflects the diversity of our customers and communities.

Please complete the application form with your CV and a blurb about yourself. You’ll receive a link to undertake an online technical assessment (up to 1 hour, 10 questions). Applications close 4th January 2026.

After assessments, you’ll be notified of next steps. Successful applicants will be asked to submit a brief video introducing themselves and sharing why they’ve chosen to apply.
