Job summary

An independent accountancy firm in central London is seeking a Corporate Tax Manager to provide high-quality tax advice and build relationships with clients. This is a hybrid role offering 2-3 days of work from home, and it presents a pathway to partnership for the right candidate. The ideal applicant will be CTA qualified with strong advisory experience, confident in advising on complex tax matters, and interested in client development. Salary expected to be between £70,000 and £80,000 plus benefits.

This friendly and supportive firm is seeking an experienced Corporate Tax professional to join their growing advisory team, delivering high-quality tax advice across a broad range of complex and strategic matters.

It’s an exciting time for the Tax team, who are growing and advising a dynamic client base of OMBs, SMEs and corporate groups. They’re keen to recruit a CTA and/or ACA qualified corporate tax Manager who is looking for a career pathway towards partnership.

The role offers the opportunity to handle a broad range of work, which could involve any of the following:

  • Advise on group restructures and reorganisations, including UK and international considerations
  • Provide support on international tax matters and cross-border structuring
  • Deliver transaction advisory services, including acquisitions, disposals, management buyouts (MBOs), and employee ownership trusts (EOTs)
  • Advise on Substantial Shareholding Exemption (SSE), capital allowances, loss utilisation, and group relief
  • Support strategic tax planning for growing and evolving businesses
  • Provide corporate tax insight during audit engagements
  • Attend audit planning meetings and review tax-sensitive areas of financial statements
  • Offer proactive guidance and training to audit colleagues to strengthen audit and tax integration
  • Advise on tax-efficient corporate structures
  • Support tax due diligence on transactions
  • Advise on the tax treatment of intangible assets and goodwill
  • Advise on Controlled Foreign Company (CFC) rules and overseas structuring
  • Manage double tax relief and treaty claims
  • Assess permanent establishment risks
  • Manage HMRC enquiries and voluntary disclosures
  • Support compliance with Corporate Interest Restriction (CIR) and Senior Accounting Officer (SAO) requirements
  • Advise on tax governance, controls, and risk mitigation strategies
  • Identify and optimise capital allowance claims
  • Advise on SSE applications
  • Support full expensing and Annual Investment Allowance (AIA) planning
  • Act as a trusted adviser to existing clients
  • Build strong client relationships while steadily developing your own corporate tax advisory portfolio
  • Streamline and improve tax advisory processes
  • Enhance collaboration between audit and tax teams
  • Support the training and upskilling of colleagues
  • As the service line grows, contribute to the development, coaching, and mentoring of future team members

The successful candidate is likely to be CTA qualified and an experienced Tax Manager with strong corporate tax advisory experience. They will be confident in advising on group structures, transactions, and international tax. In addition, they will be experienced in reviewing the work of junior team members and developing their skills. They will also be interested in getting involved with networking and client development.

This is an opportunity to join a high quality, independent accountancy firm, based in central London. They offer hybrid working 2-3 days a week and believe that there are genuine prospects for a talented Manager to progress swiftly to Senior Manager and on towards Partnership. Salary will be dependent on experience but is likely to be c.£70,000 - £80,000 + benefits.
