Description

Moore Kingston Smith is on an exciting growth journey to strengthen its position as a leading Corporate Finance service provider in the UK mid-market. Our Corporate Finance team operates across three key, collaborative streams: M&A, Transaction Services, and Debt Advisory. Transaction Services is a core part of this offering and is experiencing significant growth as our transaction pipeline continues to expand.

We are looking for a Transaction Services specialist with Financial Due Diligence expertise to join us as a Manager and play a pivotal role in shaping this growing area of our business. This is an outstanding opportunity for an ambitious professional to take on early responsibility across a diverse range of transactions and work directly with Partners and Directors who are actively involved in every deal.

You will have significant client exposure and contribute to delivering high-quality transaction services, while supporting business development initiatives that drive the future of our offering. With strong performance and continued growth within the team, we foresee opportunities for progression into more senior positions in our Transaction Services team.

Key Responsibilities

Transactions will be across a wide variety of business sectors and will include vendor, pre‑acquisition and pre‑investment due diligence, vendor assist, pre‑lend reviews, and Reporting Accountant roles on IPOs. Responsibilities will include:

  • Taking project responsibility for individual due diligence projects, reporting to the project Partner and/or Director, ensuring that transaction deliverables and timelines are met within budget.
  • Participating in the confirmation of scope of field work and preparation of fee budgets.
  • Leading teams to complete analysis and draft an appropriate report for review by the Partner/Director.
  • Liaising with teams across Moore Kingston Smith (e.g., tax) to complete the required work on a timely basis.
  • Liaising with the client and the client’s other advisers (e.g., lawyers) as required.
  • Assisting the Partner/Director in the presentation of report findings to clients in face‑to‑face meetings as required.
  • Supporting operational and administrative processes such as preparing engagement letters, onboarding and KYC procedures, setting up client accounts, maintaining transaction files and internal reports, billing, and contributing to improvements in team tools and templates.
  • Assisting with team development through training and upskilling initiatives (in particularly the evolving use of AI).
  • Developing and maintaining relationships internally and externally.
  • Assisting with implementing the inter‑office Corporate Finance network to facilitate deal sharing and knowledge exchange.
  • Proactively participating in BD initiatives and events, liaising with the central marketing team as required.
  • Monitoring local press to identify new business opportunities.
  • Preparing PowerPoint documents and proposals.
  • Researching target clients and business sectors.
  • Participating in initial target client and referrer meetings.
  • Assisting with preparing marketing material and following up on potential opportunities.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
  • Previous experience in Transaction Services is essential, typically gained over 3 to 4 years.
  • Demonstrated experience through a list of assignments completed. In particular, the ability to lead transaction services engagements and prepare the necessary due diligence reports.
  • Be able to demonstrate the use of AI in carrying out the due diligence work.
  • Strong professional business reporting writing and analytical skills.
  • Strong project management skills.
  • Be able to and confident in presenting key findings to stakeholders.
  • Commercially astute Chartered Accountant (ACA/ACCA qualified) who ideally trained within audit before specialising in Corporate Finance.
  • Demonstrate strong interpersonal skills and a proven track record of leading a team and assignments through to completion.
