As a volunteer helping our members to prepare food and cook and clean, you will be playing a very important role in making the day at Peaceful Place special for our members. We are seeking volunteers who like to either bake, cook, clean or chat. Our members love to be involved in cooking meals, baking and even cleaning, so your role is very much central to their wellbeing. You will be rewarded by their enthusiasm and chatty fun nature and be supported in your role by a multi-disciplinary team. Our kitchen is fully equipped and very open, adjoining the dining area, making it a lovely space to still converse with members sitting at the table.

ROLE:

Support our members in providing them with a nutritional breakfast, lunch, and refreshments during the day.

Our service aims to begin at 09.00 when our first members arrive for breakfast.

Lunch is served at approx. 1.00pm and you will play a role in assisting with serving, supported by other volunteers and staff.

After breakfast, members will often support you and the cook to prepare lunch by preparing vegetables.

Support our cook and members to decide on weekly menus.

If you like baking, maybe you could run a baking class with our members.

Preparing picnics or packed lunches for trips to the park.

Contribute to keeping our Health and Safety rating to excellent.
