We are inviting applications for the post of Consultant Oncoplastic Breast Surgeon to join our forward-thinking and collaborative breast service within the University Hospitals of Northamptonshire NHS Group. The successful candidate will join our innovative breast unit to provide comprehensive breast surgical services in collaboration with Northampton General Hospital. This position focuses on the timely diagnosis and surgical treatment of breast cancer, with particular emphasis on oculoplastic procedures.
In 2023, our unit diagnosed 298 patients and provided treatment to 254 patients. The unit offers state-of-the-art facilities having recently benefited a newly built waiting lounge and garden area as well as recent investment in refurbishing breast screening facilities within the unit.
This opportunity is ideal for a candidate who has recently gained their CCT in Breast Surgery and is on the GMC Specialist Register.

Including factual reference, occupational health clearance and statutory and mandatory training record.
If you need to have a Disclosure Barring Service (DBS) check, as a requirement of the role, you will be required to repay the cost of obtaining a DBS check (£49.50) and this amount will be reclaimed from your first salary. From 1st February 2019 all new starters to the Trust are required to join the DBS update service as per Trust DBS Re-checking Policy which has an annual cost of £16. New employees who do not join the update service will be required to pay £49.50 for a new DBS check in 3 years time.
Please note that news starters with KGH are subject to a six month probationary period.
