We have an exciting opportunity for a highly qualified/experienced Concrete Chemist to join as a core member of the R&D team on a managerial track at Concrete4Change.
Location: Nottingham
Remuneration: Competitive package inclusive of salary, share options and annual bonus (dependent on performance)
Start date and end date (approx): This is a permanent position and is available for immediate start. (Flexible on start date based on notice period)

Concrete4Change (C4C) is an R&D company developing ground-breaking technology to utilise and permanently mineralise CO2 in concrete.
C4C technology has won numerous awards, including the United Nations (UN) Climate Challenge Cup at COP26 in Glasgow, the Royal Academy of Engineering, and UN SDG. C4C is partly owned by two of the largest concrete manufacturers in the world (Siam Cement Group and Goldbeck GmbH). The company is engaged in several projects in partnership with the University of Nottingham, University of Sheffield, and University of Warwick, with a total project value of £5 million for 2023-2024.
Job Description
In this role, you are a self-starter capable of developing new technology areas leveraging existing capabilities, including CO2 adsorption. You will plan, procure, and manage the concrete laboratory in compliance with regulations. You will lead a team of civil engineers, applying your cement and concrete chemistry expertise to carbon capture and utilisation (CCU) in concrete, and evaluate CCU techniques on the properties and long-term performance of cement-based materials.
Person's specifications and responsibilities:
Additional responsibilities include developing and evaluating R&D strategies, project management, budget oversight, vendor negotiations, risk assessment, scalability monitoring, patent and IP management, and competitive analysis. The role involves leading product development projects aimed at CO2 sequestration in concrete.
