The C4 Apprenticeship Programme

If you are looking for an opportunity to gain work experience and a qualification, then an apprenticeship at Channel 4 might be for you. Our Apprenticeships are full-time, with four days per week spent working in a C4 department and one day per week completing the formal learning parts of the apprenticeship. You’ll spend 60% of your working week in your office base and 40% working from home. The formal training provided will consist of workshops, tutorials, webinars, coaching and in some cases residential boot camps. Eligibility
  • You must be 18 years old or over at the time the scheme starts to apply. There is no upper age limit.
  • You’ll need to have a Grade C (4) or above in Maths & English GCSE
  • You can’t have already completed the qualification being offered or similar at the same or higher level

Department Description

The Commissioning department is responsible for selecting and helping shape content across linear channels and digital platforms. This role works closely with the Director of Commissioning Operations, the Head of Indie Relations, and the team responsible for developing relationships with independent producers, maintaining commissioning processes, and ensuring efficiency.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide administrative support including diary management, meeting minutes, travel arrangements and expenses filing.
  • Support project management of key initiatives (e.g., Emerging Indie Fund and 4Producers Network).
  • Maintain an accurate database of suppliers and independent producers.
  • Collaborate with the wider team on initiatives to support suppliers.
  • Assist with maintenance and updating of the 4Producers website and newsletter.
  • Support delivery of virtual and in-person events and functions.
  • Provide cross-functional support to other teams in Commissioning, such as Creative Diversity, as needed.
  • Ensure visitors to the team are managed appropriately.
  • Research and preparation of PowerPoint presentations and other reports.
