The key responsibilities are:

  • Provide specialist guidance on Companies Act requirements, corporate governance, and statutory obligations for UK companies.
  • Support company secretarial and PLC governance activities, including maintaining statutory registers, preparing board packs, and assisting with regulatory disclosures and market announcements.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate complex commercial agreements.
  • Work collaboratively with internal teams including Finance, Procurement, Operations, and Executive leadership, on data protection, competition law, and intellectual property issues as they arise in commercial arrangements.
  • Support strategic projects, M&A activity, and internal legal frameworks where required.
  • Contribute to wider business initiatives, providing pragmatic, commercially focused legal advice to support operational and strategic goals.
To be successful in this role, you will be:
  • A qualified solicitor with 5 years+ PQE gained in‑house or at a reputable law firm and qualified to practice in the UK.
  • Fluent in English and French language skills advantageous.
  • An experienced commercial lawyer, with demonstrable experience advising on complex commercial contracts.
  • Knowledgeable and confident in Companies Act law, corporate governance, and PLC/secretarial obligations.
  • Commercially minded, with the ability to translate legal risks into clear, practical advice.
  • Comfortable working in a fast‑paced, entrepreneurial environment with shifting priorities.
  • A strong communicator who can build trusted relationships with stakeholders at all levels.
  • The ability to work autonomously and decisively where necessary, to ensure business operations run effectively.
