Position Overview

Due to the expansion of our programme and increasing number of members, the Avenue Tennis Club is looking for a reliable, enthusiastic, self‑motivated and hard‑working coach to work closely with a small team of coaches under the guidance and management of the Head Coach. Start January but some cover and 1‑1 sessions immediately.

We have a comprehensive coaching programme, including Mini Tennis, Teens Tennis, Adult Programme and Junior Holiday Camps. You would work all year round on the programme and holiday camps, and in exchange you can have access to the courts for your 1‑1 sessions (some 1‑1 will be provided and the Head Coach divides new enquiries among the coaches as she is no longer taking on new players for 1‑1).

The Avenue Tennis Club is a small 3‑court club all with floodlights, and a 4th Junior court. This role can be full or part time; a genuine opportunity to grow a career at The Avenue, which is in Finchley Central, London N3 2LE.

It is important that you are the right person for the role – somebody with passion, experience and a vision. We have 400 members. We run 8 junior teams and 5 adult teams.

The club has a comprehensive coaching and social programme for adults and juniors from tots to teens; there is something for everyone whether you are a total beginner or ready to play on the county circuit.

We are looking for someone with:

• LTA Level 3, or a Level 2 working towards Level 3 or a coach with European equivalent qualifications, or with a history of competing.
• Current LTA Accreditation.
• You will be self‑motivated and have excellent communication skills.
• Proven experience in coaching groups for all levels of LTA Mini tennis programmes – this is ESSENTIAL.
• Proven track record in working with adults and children.
• You will be outgoing, with a dynamic court presence, have a very good command of the English language, and ideally already living in London.
• The closer to Finchley N3, the better; you may coach as early as 08:00 and as late as 21:00.
• Although we have a very comfortable warm clubhouse with brand new kitchen facilities and Wi‑Fi all for your FREE use, you would probably wish to live near enough to go home during gaps in lessons.
• You must be a rounded team player who will support the club and your colleagues and enjoy being part of a close‑knit coaching team.

We’re a family‑oriented club with 3 courts and an under‑9 Mini court. We run 8 junior teams, and 5 adult teams.
