Job summary

A rehabilitation service provider in Newcastle upon Tyne seeks individuals to assist clients with acquired brain injuries. Applicants must be fluent in BSL and have experience in healthcare or rehabilitation. The role requires providing support during rehabilitation sessions, encouraging clients to meet their therapeutic goals, and understanding Deaf culture is paramount. Job description

Reach are responsible for providing rehabilitation for clients who have suffered an acquired brain injury, typically from a car accident or work place injury. The rehabilitation programme takes place in the client’s home and local community. Your role is to encourage the client to work on the tasks and goals identified by an Neuro-Occupational Therapist which will help the client improve their quality of life.

We are looking for somebody to work with a brain injured person (Client) who is about to undertake one of our rehabilitation programmes.

Role criteria
  • Fluent in BSL
  • Deaf or hearing
  • Male or female, any age
  • Experience in healthcare or rehabilitation
  • Understanding of Deaf culture
  • Availability for two 3-hour sessions per week (subject to change following review of the rehabilitation plan)
Salary

From £14.00 per hour plus holiday pay of 12.07%, and travel allowance
