Job description

We’re looking for a Clinical Support Engineer who loves helping clinicians feel confident, supported, and fully equipped to deliver safe, effective remote care. In this role, you’ll be the person who makes sure new clinicians can hit the ground running. This includes setting up their accounts, devices or virtual desktops, EMIS Web access, smartcards, video consultation tools, AI scribe tools, and everything they need for day‑one success. You’ll combine solid technical know‑how with clear communication, patience, and the ability to translate clinical workflows into simple digital steps. You’ll also play an active role in exploring and rolling out new Digital Health tools; from ambient AI scribes to video platforms and patient self‑service tools.

Onboarding & Training
  • Lead end‑to‑end onboarding for clinicians across multiple professions.
  • Set up accounts (AD/Entra ID, M365), EMIS Web access/roles, smartcards, video consultation tools, and supporting apps.
  • Host friendly, practical onboarding sessions (1:1 or groups) covering device setup, VPN, EMIS basics, smartcards, MS Teams, Outlook and day‑one workflows.
  • Maintain onboarding trackers and ensure clinicians reach 'ready-for-clinic' status smoothly and on schedule.
Clinician Support
  • Provide calm, timely support during first clinics and go‑lives fixing access issues, smartcard errors, EMIS login problems, AV setup, etc.
  • Run readiness checks before clinics start (accounts, connectivity, HSCN, video/audio).
  • Triage and resolve 1st/2nd line EMIS Web, Windows, and M365 issues.
Training Material & Knowledge Base
  • Create simple, clear guides, quick‑starts, videos, and FAQs.
  • Maintain a searchable knowledge base and keep content updated.
  • Collect feedback and improve materials to reduce recurring issues.
Digital Health Enablement
  • Help assess and roll out new tech such as AI medical scribes, video platforms, digital front‑door tools, messaging/chatbots, and online forms.
  • Support pilots, gather user feedback, and help shape practical workflows.
  • Work with Clinical Systems Manager on safe, user‑friendly integration of new tools into EMIS and day‑to‑day clinical practice.
Reporting & Service Management
  • Run basic EMIS Web searches/reports to support operations and adoption tracking.
  • Keep clinicians updated about changes, maintenance, and new features.
  • Convert common fixes into knowledge base articles and contribute to process improvements.
What You’ll Bring
Essential
  • Hands‑on experience onboarding clinicians and supporting remote consultations in UK healthcare.
  • Practical EMIS Web support skills and understanding of remote clinical workflows.
  • Strong grasp of NHS Smartcards, Spine, HSCN, and RA processes.
  • Confident with Microsoft 365 (Teams, Outlook, OneDrive, SharePoint) and Windows troubleshooting.
  • Experience with VDI/AVD or secure remote access environments.
  • Basic AD/Entra ID and M365 admin skills (user provisioning, licences, permissions).
  • Excellent communication, empathy, and problem‑solving.
  • Ability to create clear training content and documentation.
  • Curiosity about Digital Health and confidence evaluating new tools.
Desirable
  • Experience running structured onboarding programmes and trackers.
  • Familiarity with AI documentation tools, video consultation platforms, and digital booking/messaging tools.
  • Understanding of IG/clinical safety frameworks (e.g., DCB0129/0160, DSPT, UK GDPR).
  • EMIS configuration experience (templates, searches, reports).
  • Awareness of HL7/FHIR concepts.
